Very, very questionable whether William Hill will be up and running for the start of football season. Great quote from their CEO in a blog Andrew posted earlier today essentially says just that:
"Topping said he hopes to have William Hill’s operations running by the start of the National Football League season, but “we’re not going to cry in our onion soup if we don’t get there,” he said in an interview after the two-hour hearing.
“We not going to make false promises, but it’s a nice target to have,” he said.
This is bad news for Reno bettors -- they used to have seven different sportsbooks offering lines, but with William Hill taking over, our Washoe County friends to the north are down to five sets of independent lines.
However, it's great news for Nevada in general and Vegas bettors. William Hill is here because they think that the time for legal online gaming is here in the US, and they'll do everything that their deep pockets can fund to make that happen. I like it when motivated and well funded corporations have the same interests as we do!

What would be best for those of who earn money wagering on sports is simply if poker or other casino gaming was legalized online and not sportsbetting. All we really need is that avenue so e-wallet companies can operate like we could pre-2006 and then we would all have access once again to Pinny and all the other Euro, canadian, and international bookmakers who have absolutely no clue on many american sports and move very slow and produce a plethora of off market and soft numbers.
In addition, getting e-wallets back would obviously make the movement of money 500 billion times faster than it currently is for those of in the US.
