For now, they've called up LH Scott Barnes to give them 3 lefties in the pen for the NYY series but they're expected to bring Zach McAllister back to take Gomez's spot in the rotation in time to start Sunday vs. Baltimore.
If you needed a blue print of how to project regression, Gomez was it. We already knew he was a fringe arm based on his first two seasons. Puts together a small sample of success -- albeit the lucky kind: 42.1 IP and a 23-13 K-to-BB ratio and a .238 BABIP after the first month. Only one start with double-digit swinging strikes.
