Am I alone in thinking the 9.5 wins for this Denver team seems extremely inflated? There are a number of teams that I have pegged as pretty much nothing but under squads, the Broncos, Bengals, Dolphins and Jets perhaps being chief amongst them. But with their schedule, I am having to squint really hard to get this team an eighth win for the season, let alone a ninth. Really like some of the component parts, and maybe this is just based on my sense that Peyton Manning's twilight will resemble Dan Marino's with frustrated stomps to the sidelines and angry tugs at chin straps, while nothing that's gone wrong was in any way their fault, but I really don't see this season turning into a Mile High miracle. I also think that both the Chiefs and Chargers will be very relevant if they get even adequate offensive line play, but I'm just not seeing it for the donkeys this year. Can't tell if I'm blind or wearing bi-focals. It's mundanely obvious to point out that these win totals essentially come down to the schedule that awaits, and even though you may like the way a team is trending or building, that if their schedule isn't condusive, that a club might just appear to be spinning it's wheels for the season. Just curious if anyone is with me on this one?

On the surface you are correct. It appears to be a tough schedule and I even made a post referring to the fact that I thought Manning kind of made a strange move going to Denver with that kind of schedule on deck (assuming he was returning to play for a championship). There are other factors here that could push this team to 10-6. You know how the NFL is, worst to first and first to worst are one injury away in some cases. So even though the schedule looks rough based on past performance, you never know which one of the so called contenders will fall on their face this year. Their opener may set the tone and Pitt seems to me to be a team headed for a decline. Take the fact that this was an 8-8 team last year with a pretty inept QB and the line seems close to correct. I probably would have thrown up a 9 had I lined it. I think Decker can have a monster year as long as he and Manning stay healthy. Staying away from this one myself but I would lean under for sure.
