| Teddy_Covers wrote on Tue, 11 September 2012 10:59 | Porcello pitched a gem for five innings last night, but two bad pitches in the sixth --back-2-back homers from Rios and Pierzynski -- doomed his (and the Tigers) chances. Detroit now 0-6 in Porcello's last six starts, despite the fact that he's allowed three earned runs or less in each of the last five.....

Teddy is right. I watched the game with a ticket on Detroit. He had a good game plan, was throwing inside to righties, and attacking the zone. His problem, as it has always been, is that with no plus pitches, there are times during the game when he has to come in the zone and it gets pounded. It is tough to survive for 6+ innings without having a go-to pitch you can count on when you need an out. That and Detroit's defense sucks balls.
