NHL POST-BYE WEEK BETTING TREND

Starting tonight, a handful of NHL teams will be coming off their league imposed 5 day break/bye week which is a mandatory scheduling element that each team has to go through here in the month of January. Last year, betting against teams in their first game off the bye week proved to be extremely profitable as teams in that situation playing their first game after the break were 8-18 last season in games against opponents that were NOT coming off their league mandated bye week break. That is something well worth mentioning and monitoring for all NHL bettors.

Arizona is the first team this season to be coming off their league mandated break tonight hosting the Edmonton Oilers who are not coming off a break. Edmonton is playing their normal schedule so that would make the Oilers a fit tonight with that aforementioned 18-8 betting angle which is in their favor in that game tonight.

With Edmonton's 4-2 win against Arizona last night, the NHL post-bye week betting angle is now 19-8 70% since the start of last season.

Teams that fit the angle tonight:
Edmonton +170 at Vegas
Arizona +190 at San Jose

Also if you are betting NHL totals, the Over is 15-8-4 in 27 games involving teams playing their first game following their 5 day break bye week.

The angle is now 20-10 67% over the last two seasons combined.

Games that fit the angle tonight:

New Jersey vs. Washington
Dallas vs. Columbus
St. Louis vs. Ottawa
NY Rangers vs. Buffalo
Vegas vs. Tampa Bay
