MLB Saturday May 12: Top 3 Bullpen Concerns
May 12 at 11:42am

Here's a quick look at the Top 3 Team Bullpen concerns for today's action:

1) Cincinnati -

Closer Raisel Iglesias likely unavailable after throwing the past three days (Total Pitch Count = 48)

LH late inning revelation Amir Garrett (former starter) would not only be in a B-B but also 4th in 5 days stuation if called upon so figure him to be out for tonight (27 Total Pitches last night / 58 TP in 3 of L4 days)

In all, Cincy is out a closer and down to about 4 arms tonight with only RH Jared Hughes being rested and dependable

2) Toronto -

Already without suspended Closer Roberto Osuna, the Bluejays deep bullpen figures to be without back end workhorse RH John Axford who has appeared 3 times in the L4G totaling 36 pitches...4th in 5 is unlikely

RH late inning above average relievers Tyler Clippard / Ryan Tepara / Seung -Hwan Oh would each be in B-B plus 3rd in 4 days scenarios if called upon this afternoon vs. Boston. Pitch counts are not enormous 28 / 32 & 20 but third in 4 days raises worries of effectiveness. This limits Toronto to 1-2 average, semi-rested arms.

3) Milwaukee -

Of the Brewers top arms, only 1st year sensation LH Josh Hader is without concern (threw 19 pitches last night)

Just off the DL, Closer Corey Knebel would be in 3rd in 4G situation (had yesterday off - 30 TP previous two days)

RH Jacob Barnes would be in a B-B off hefty 29 pitch outing last night...he'd also be in 3rd in 4

Dependable back end situation RH Jeremy Jeffress is probably out tonight after working B-B (29 pitches) & three of the L4

Situational LH Boone Logan would be in 3rd in three days

Milwaukee's situation isn't rock bottom but in Coors tonight, starter Chase Anderson needs to give them 6-7 innings or this will be problematic
