Take Iowa (#160)
The Iowa Barnstomers have shown the ability to hang tough with elite level teams on this field on more than one occasion this year. Iowa beat Arizona – arguably the best team in the league – as home underdogs in their last game on this field. The Barnstormers took 5-1 Chicago to overtime here before losing by a single point. They also lost by a single point on the road at a quality Utah squad last week. That's three tight battles (all against quality foes, all decided by two points or less, and all Iowa ATS victories) in their last four games, with a two TD win at Pittsburgh in between. Clearly, this team can hang with the big boys.
San Jose enjoys a tremendous home field advantage, but when the Sabercats hit the highway it's a very different story. Already this season, we've seen San Jose lose outright at Utah and Philly. They went 1-8 SU, 3-6 ATS on the highway last year, but the 1-8 is the more important number here, because not only do they have to win today to cover, they've got to win by margin! The Sabercats offense did not click on all cylinders against lowly Kansas City last week, and I'm not convinced that's going to change today. Take Iowa.
