New bill offers glimpse of how New Jersey sports betting will look

SportsMemo.com blog entry.
New Jersey's sports betting is actually looking less and less like a pipe dream and more like reality. A newly drafted bill includes some of the following provisions: The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement would be in charge. A company must have a brick and mortar casino in order to also offering online wagering. The much maligned "integrity fee" will be included. And no college games or teams associated with New Jersey will be on the board. Now all that's left is for the Supreme Court to say yes, which could come as early as May 14.

No casino or racetrack permitholder shall be permitted to operate or accept wagers via an online sports pool unless a sports wagering lounge is established and has commenced operation in its facility; provided, however, that a sports wagering permitholder may petition the division to commence operation of an online sports pool during the pendency of construction of a sports wagering lounge in its facility. MLB Handicapper Free Betting Pick: Baltimore Orioles at Los Angeles Angels

Baltimore (Cobb) at Los Angeles (Tropeano) -170 O/U 8.5
Recommendation: Over

Baltimore's Alex Cobb was up against it prior to the season even starting. He inked with the Orioles late in March and was vocal about saying he's simply wasn't ready to face MLB hitting. Three starts in and it's clear Cobb still isn't up to speed. He's allowed 30 hits and fanned only four batters in 11.2 IP. Some may point to his .482 BABIP as the main culprit for his statistical struggles but I look more at the eroding nature of Cobb's best and only plus pitch, the split/change. For much of Cobb's career, it was was his go-to offering. In 2014, opposing hitters batted .191 against it. In 2016, after missing a full season due to an injury, it remained effective at .219. Last year, it jumped to .310 and this year .444. Without that pitch, Cobb is a fringe MLB starter at best. Nick Tropeano missed most of 2016 and all of 2017 with Tommy John. He got a tough draw his last two starts with having to face the Red Sox and Astros but his velocity in trending in the wrong direction. Last time out, his fastball averaged 89.5 MPH which was the lowest mark of his Read more

MLB Handicapper Free Betting Pick: San Diego Padres at San Francisco Giants

San Diego (Lauer) at San Francisco (Samardzija) -160 O/U 7.5
Recommendation: Over

San Diego was looking for the same lightning in a bottle effect that they’ve gotten from rookie LH starter Joey Lucchesi when they called up fellow rookie southpaw Eric Lauer last week. The results were drastically different as Lauer allowed 10 base runners and six earned runs in his three innings of work against Colorado. In fairness, Coors Field is not an ideal venue for a rookie pitcher to make his first MLB start so we’re likely to get a truer feel for what Lauer may be when he throws in pitcher friendly AT&T park tonight. In his debut, Lauer was basically a two pitch pitcher throwing his fastball (69%) & cutter (23%) on 68 of his 74 pitches. He averaged 91 MPH on his fastball and 87 on the cutter so there wasn’t much variation speed or pitch wise in his short stint. Deceptiveness in his delivery has helped propel him to the big leagues (had 19 strikeouts in 18 Minor league innings prior to Colorado start) so tonight will be another chance.

San Francisco very quietly has begun to hit much better scoring 4 runs or Read more
