Atlanta Braves at Washington Nationals Analysis
After winning 10-4 last night and 9-5 on Monday night, the Braves are set to square off against the Nationals for the series finale on Wednesday night.
The Braves are leading the season series 3-2 against the Nationals. Spencer Strider is set to make the start for the Braves and Erick Fedde will be on the mound for the Nationals. Atlanta is a -180 road favorite, the run line is 1.5, and the total is 9 runs for this game.
Atlanta Braves Betting Preview
After starting the season with a bit of a World Series hangover, the Braves have finally bounced back and they have won 13 games in a row.
Atlanta has improved to 36-27 on the season and they sit in 2nd place in the NL East. The Braves are 16-13 on the road this season and are 23-23 covering the run line as a favorite.
Spencer Strider will make the start for the Braves tonight in Washington. This will be Striders’ fourth start of the season but his 14th overall appearance.
On the season, Strider has a 2.35 ERA, a 1.99 FIP, and a 1.12 WHIP. In his last three starts, Strider has gone 14 innings allowing four runs on 10 hits.
The 23-year-old had eight strikeouts in his last start. Strider faced the Nationals in 3.1 relief innings on 4/11 and he allowed one run on three hits with three walks and three Ks.
Washington Nationals Betting Preview
The Nationals are on a three-game losing streak and they have dropped to 23-41 on the season. The Nationals are in last place in the NL East and they are 11-21 when playing at home this season.
In their last 10 games, Washington is 4-6 with a .282 team batting average and a 6.44 team ERA. As an underdog, Washington is 22-32 covering the run line this season.
Erick Fedde will make the start for the Nationals tonight. Fedde is 4-4 on the season with a 4.87 ERA, a 1,53 WHIP, and a 4.55 FIP. Washington is 7-5 in games Fedde has started this season.
In his last three outings, Fedde has gone 11.2 innings allowing 13 runs on 19 hits. All three of these games went over the total and just four of his 12 starts have gone under this season.
Atlanta Braves at Washington Nationals Prediction
The Braves cannot be stopped right now and I wouldn’t dare bet against them. As -180 favorites, it’s also tough to lay the moneyline as well.
I have leans for this game on the Braves -1.5 (-105) and over 9 runs (-110). Atlanta is smacking everyone right now and Erick Fedde has had some very poor performances this season.
The Nationals are one of the worst teams in baseball, so the Braves should take care of business and finish the sweep. For my 4% play of the day, check out my handicapper profile on Sportsmemo.
Prediction: Braves -1.5 and Over 9
