Home Run Prop Picks, Predictions and Odds
With a full slate of MLB action on our hands tonight, Sportsmemo content contributor Kyle Kargel provides his home run prop picks and predictions for Friday, April 29 with odds provided by DraftKings.
Home Run Prop Prediction 1: Pete Alonso (+390)
Pete Alonso is due for a home run as he and the Mets face a familiar foe in the Philadelphia Phillies tonight. Starting pitcher Aaron Nola has given up four home runs in four starts this season with one of those coming off the bat of Alonso.
Nola has been getting better with each start that has passed but Alonso has solid career numbers vs Nola going 10-29 with three home runs.
Alonso has gone 38 at-bats without a home run with the last coming on April 17. Take a shot on Alonso to blast one out of Citi Field tonight.
Home Run Prop Prediction 2: Paul GoldSchmidt (+260)
The Mets’ last game vs the Cardinals got very chippy. The New York Mets have been hit at the dish more than any other team so far this season and there was visible frustration from their side. Dugouts and bullpens cleared for a semi-serious altercation at Busch Stadium.
One loss to the Cardinals is certainly not the end of the world for a Mets team that is absolutely buzzing right now. What they need is a fifth solid start from Tylor Megill. Through four starts this season, Megill has allowed just six runs on 18 hits through 23 innings of work. He has been very impressive.
Home Run Prop Prediction: Others to Consider
Cincinnati Reds Outfielder Tommy Pham – 4-10 career against Senzatela and Pham playing in a familiar hitters park in Coors Field. He needs to get off the schnied as well (+475).
New York Yankees Third Baseman Josh Donaldson – The Yankees have been scorching as of late but all their recent wins have been at home as they head to Kansas City to face the Royals. Donaldson has decent career numbers vs probable starter Kris Bubic going 3-11 with two home runs (+340).
