Marlins vs Nationals Analysis
On Wednesday night, the Nationals and the Marlins square off for the third and final game of a three-game series between these two teams. The Marlins hold the series lead 2-0.
For the season series between these two teams, the Marlins are 5-0 against the Nationals. For the final game of this series, the Marlins are -180 home favorites, the run line is -1.5, and the total is set at 7.5 runs.
Nationals Preview
Washington has been on a downward spiral the last 10 games. The Nationals came into this season knowing they are rebuilding, and they play like a team with not a lot of MLB talent on the roster.
Washington is 3-7 in their last 10 and has been outscored by 13 runs. They are 12-26 on the season and sit in last place in the NL East.
Josiah Gray will make the start for Washington tonight against the Marlins. Gray is 4-3 on the season and is one of the bright spots on the National’s pitching staff. In 7 starts, Gray has gone 37.1 innings allowing 18 runs on 31 hits and 18 walks.
The 24-year-old shows flashes of brilliance, but also shows he is still a kid with a ton of work to do. Nevertheless, his future in the MLB is bright.
Marlins Preview
The Marlins have been up and down this season and it is reflected in their record. They are not yet a .500 team, but they are 17-19 on the season, which has them in 2nd place in the NL East.
Miami is 5-5 over their last 10 games, but they have outscored their opponents by 19 runs in those games. Miami needs to continue to produce runs in order to make a chase at the Mets for the NL East crown.
Pablo Lopez will make the start for Miami. Lopez has had a fantastic start to the season and is pitching at a very high level.
Through seven starts, Lopez has allowed just five earned runs on 27 hits and just eight walks. His 0.81 WHIP is the third-best in baseball and his 1.05 ERA leads the Majors.
Marlins vs Nationals Prediction
I certainly think the Marlins close out this series against the Nationals with a sweep, so I like the Marlins -190 on the moneyline. This is the absolute highest I would go on a moneyline in an MLB game.
Normally I do not go over -165, but I have this game priced at Miami -220 and it is -190, so there is value. I have identified my 4% best bet of the day, so check it out right now!
Prediction: Miami Marlins Moneyline -190
