Milwaukee Brewers at Cincinnati Reds Analysis
On Friday night, the Brewers and the Reds kick off a three-game series in Cincinnati. Milwaukee is coming off a 2-1 series loss against the Mets in New York and Cincinnati is coming off a 2-1 series win in Arizona against the Diamondbacks.
This is the 7th time these two teams will face off this season and the Brewers are winning the season series 4-2. For this matchup, both teams are -110, the run line is 1.5, and the total is 9.5 runs.
Milwaukee Brewers Betting Preview
If it wasn’t for how badly the Angels have been playing in June, we would be talking about how badly the Brewers look in June. Milwaukee is 2-8 in their last 10 games and they have been outscored by 20 runs over this stretch.
The Brewers are 35-30 and they sit in 2nd place in the NL Central standings. Milwaukee is 20-18 on the road and they are 20-34 covering the run line as a favorite this year.
Eric Lauer will make the start for the Brewers tonight. The lefty has a 5-2 record with a 3.36 ERA and a 1.20 WHIP. The Brewers have lost Lauer’s last three starts and he has allowed 14 runs over 15 innings in his last three starts.
Lauer was on fire this year until he let up eight runs in five innings to the Nationals in his last start. The Reds have a .796 OPS at home this season which leads the entire Major Leagues.
Cincinnati Reds Betting Preview
After getting off to one of the worst starts in the history of Major League Baseball, the Reds have bounced back. However, they are still one of the worst teams in baseball.
Cincinnati is 23-40 on the season and they sit in last place in the NL Central. The Reds are 12-17 at home and they are 24-24 covering the run line as an underdog this season.
Hunter Greene will make the start at home against the Brewers tonight. The 22-year-old is 3-7 on the season with a 5.10 ERA and a 1.30 WHIP. Greene has 79 Ks in 60 innings pitched this season.
He has had some rough starts this season but also some fantastic outings. The rookie faced the Brewers twice this season and he has allowed 10 runs and 13 hits over 8 innings against Milwaukee.
Milwaukee Brewers at Cincinnati Reds Prediction
This game is a toss-up tonight. The Brewers are familiar with Greene but Greene has gotten a lot better since he faced the Brewers in May.
Milwaukee is struggling at the dish and on the mound and the Reds mash at home, so they can take advantage of the Brewers. I lean for the Reds to steal this game on the moneyline. For the rest of my Friday card, check out my handicapper profile on Sportsmemo.
Prediction: Cincinnati Reds Moneyline +100
