Milwaukee Brewers at New York Mets Analysis
On Thursday night, the Milwaukee Brewers face off against the New York Mets in the final game of a three-game series. The Mets won game one 4-0 and the Brewers won game two 10-2.
For this third and final matchup, the Mets are starting Tylor Megill and the Brewers are starting Aaron Ashby. The Mets are -130 home favorites, the run line is 1.5, and the total is 8 runs for tonight’s game.
Milwaukee Brewers Betting Preview
The Brewers have been struggling mightily lately, but their 10-run win last night may be exactly what they needed to get back on track. Milwaukee is 2-8 in their last 10 games and their team batting average is .227 over this period.
Milwaukee has fallen to second place in the NL Central and they are 35-29 on the season. The Brewers are 20-17 on the road and they are 6-4 covering the run line as an underdog this season.
Aaron Ashby will make the start for Milwaukee tonight. Ashby is 1-5 on the season and he has made seven starts and six relief appearances. The Brewers are 2-2 in his last four starts and he allowed 11 runs on 24 hits over 16.2 innings.
Ashby has a 3.91 ERA, a 1.44 WHIP, and a 3.40 FIP on the season. He is facing a Mets lineup that has a .752 OPS at home, a .743 OPS at night, and a .704 OPS against lefties.
New York Mets Betting Preview
The Mets, despite their 10-2 loss last night, are still rolling. New York needs to be careful since the Braves are inching closer to them in the NL East standings.
The Mets are 41-23 on the season and they are 20-9 in home games this year. New York is 6-4 in their last 10 games and they are 27-19 covering the run line as a favorite.
Tylor Megill will make the start for the Mets tonight. Megill was beyond impressive in April but he has come back down to earth in May and June.
Megill has a 4.50 ERA, a 3.56 FIP, and a 1.18 WHIP so far this season. He is facing a Brewers lineup that has a team OPS of .717 against righties and .681 on the road.
Milwaukee Brewers at New York Mets Prediction
With the Mets as -130 home favorites, I think this game is priced pretty fairly. Both pitchers have had their ups and downs this season but the Brewers lineup may have finally woken up with that 10-run outburst last night.
I would look to take the Mets on the moneyline live if the Brewers score first tonight. The Mets will have closer to even odds or may even be underdogs if the Brewers score first in the 3rd of 4th inning.
Prediction: Live Bet Mets if Brewers scores first
