Rangers vs Angels Analysis
On Wednesday night, the Los Angeles Angels and the Texas Rangers square off for the final game of a three-game series. The Rangers, as underdogs, have won the first two games and the Angels are looking to avoid getting swept.
The season series for these two teams are knotted up at 3-3. For this final matchup of the series, the Angels are -160 road favorites, the run line is 1.5, and the total is set at 7.5 runs.
Angels Preview
Los Angeles started the season holding first place in the NL West, but that quickly changed after their division rival, the Houston Astros, got hot.
The American League has many strong teams, so if the Angels want to make the playoffs, they need to stay hot all year. They are 24-15, which is excellent, but they cannot slip up this season.
Shohei Ohtani, the two-way superstar, will make the start for Los Angeles tonight. This will be Ohtani’s seventh start of the year.
Through six starts, Ohtani has gone 32.1 innings allowing 10 runs on 24 hits with seven walks. He has also struck out 46 batters. He has gotten better and better every start this season and is certainly in MVP form.
Rangers Preview
The Texas Rangers are currently 16-19 and sit in second place in the AL West. Besides the Angels and the Astros, the AL West is arguably the worst division in the MLB.
Texas is not in a position to compete for the postseason this year and still has a lot of work to do to its roster. The Rangers have won three of their last five games and are on a three-game win streak.
Dane Dunning will make the start for the Rangers tonight against the Angels. This will be Dunning’s eighth start of the 2022 season. The Rangers are 3-4 in games Dunning has started this season.
Dunning has yet to now allow a run during a start this year and he was shelled for five runs in his last start. On 4/14, he pitched against LA and he allowed two runs on six hits in 3.2 innings pitched.
Rangers vs Angels Prediction
There are two plays I have identified in this game with value. The first play is a 1% play and it is on the over of 7.5 runs.
Both teams are good at the dish and both pitchers are susceptible to allowing runs to score. However, I found more value in another bet that is a 4% play and you can get it here right now!
Prediction: Over 7.5 Total Runs Scored
