Reds vs Brewers Analysis
On Wednesday night, the Brewers and the Reds square off for the third and final game of this series. Both teams have taken home a win in this series, so tonight is the rubber match. For the third and final game of this series, Milwaukee is a -215 road favorite, the run line is 1.5, and the total is set at 9 runs.
Brewers Preview
Milwaukee is playing great baseball and is 20-11 on the season so far. Milwaukee is 3-2 in their last five games. Against the Reds this season, the Brewers are 4-1 with the one loss coming on Monday. Milwaukee is in first place in the NL Central.
Adrian Houser will make the start for the Brewers. Through five starts this year, Houser has allowed 10 runs in 26.1 innings pitched. Milwaukee is 3-2 when he takes the mound. In his last outing vs the Reds, Houser went five innings and allowed four runs.
Reds Preview
The Reds are off to a terrible start this season, but they have started to win some games and look slightly more competitive. The Reds are 6-24 on the year, but two of their wins have come in the last five games.
Cincinnati has problems all over their roster, but one thing they do decently is hit the baseball. Their team ERA of 6.46 is the worst in baseball.
Vladimir Gutierrez will take the mound for the reds Tonight. Gutierrez, through five starts, has allowed 21 runs in 21.1 innings pitched. His 8.86 ERA and 2.02 WHIP are incredibly high and certainly concerning. The last time Gutierrez faced the Brewers he allowed seven runs in 4.1 innings.
Reds vs Brewers Prediction and Best Bet
Both of these starting pitchers allow a ton of runs and a lot of base runners. The last time these two pitchers went head to head, there were runs scored all ball game long.
Nine is a high number for a total but I think this game is trending in that direction. I like over nine runs -110 for this matchup tonight.
Prediction and Best Bet: Over 9 Total Runs Scored
