Milwaukee Bucks vs New York Knicks Preview
The reigning NBA Champion comes home off a 16 point to loss to the Cavaliers. Milwaukee comes into this game 5th in the Eastern Conference, sitting behind two teams that failed to even make the playoffs last year.
Milwaukee holds the advantage this season as the Knicks sit under .500, on top of the head-to-head advantage, posting a record of 28-18 on their home court against New York dating back to 1996 against New York. This time they are on an even playing field, both coming off games that they would like to forget, falling by double digits on the road.
Milwaukee Bucks
Milwaukee comes off a night capped off by chicken wings and Evan Mobley slam dunks. Milwaukee fell to Cleveland by 16 on the road last night but they look to continue some of their impressive showing on their home court. Milwaukee has won 17 of their 25 games on their home court, on top of a 15-6 record as a home favorite this season.
They are 26-12 straight up as an outright favorite on the season, while also getting the win in 13 of their 15 games after failing to cover five (or six) of the last seven games in the last two seasons. Coach Budenholzer has not only led this team to a championship trophy season, but he has also carried this team to a 25-6 record after scoring 100 points or less as the head coach, on top of a 50-13 record at home after a game where they failed to follow the spread.
New York Knicks
New York has struggled as a team shooting in the recent games, shooting under 43% in five of the last six games. This may support the fact that the Knicks are just 2-5 in the last seven games overall, but RJ Barrett has finally found some consistent play in January, a glimmer of hope in a relatively inconsistent career thus far. The Knicks are just 14-20 against Eastern Conference opponents on top of an 8-12 record on equal rest, with a miserable 6-14 record as a dog on the year.
Both teams have some question marks coming into this game, New York has Nerlens Noel, Ryan Arcidiacono, and Mitchell Robinson are all listed as questionable coming into this match-up in Milwaukee.
The Bucks do have Wesley Matthews listed as questionable as well, we should have some more legitimate answers as we get closer to game-time on Friday. Milwaukee is a 9 point favorite, but they are just 1-7 in their L8 games a favorite of 3 or more points against the spread!
Milwaukee Bucks vs New York Knicks Prediction
Opinion : New York Knicks (+9) ; While Cleveland is a better team then New York, but I am fading this Bucks team that is just 2-5 against the spread in the last two weeks, and posting a record against the spread of just 9-16 at home on the season. Especially against a New York defense that has held their opponents to 43.2% or less shooting in six of their last nine games.

Milwaukee Bucks vs New York Knicks Notes from GoldSheet
Milwaukee a money-burning 3-9 against the points since recording a big win as a double-digit home favorite back on Jan. 1 against New Orleans. The Bucks are just two games behind in the race for the East, but technically there are five games ahead of them in the standings
As casually as Giannis Antetokounmpo was taking the 115-99 loss at Cleveland on Wednesday (bringing the bucket of wings to the postgame interview room was a nice touch), they must be aware that the home court is extremely important to their chances of repeating as NBA champions. Specifically, Milwaukee is just 13-12 straight up away from the FiServ Forum and only a few games from the Play-In Zone.
New York has had its hands full with Milwaukee and the Greek Freak the last 3-4 years, going 4-14 SU against the Bucks, covering only six of those games. This is the final meeting this season in the series, with the Knicks pulling a 113-98 upset at Milwaukee in early November, then the Bucks pasted New York in Madison Square Garden in the next two, 112-100 Nov. 10 and 112-97 on Dec. 12.
Milwaukee has had Jrue Holiday, Khris Middleton and Antetokounmpo all available at the same time in only 22 games thus far, in the starting lineup often enough, but have won 77% of those outings and are below .500 when any of those three are unavailable. All hands should be on deck for HC Mike Budenholzer in this one, but don’t like the prospect of laying a bunch of points with a Buck side that’s just 4-7 this season giving more than 8 points at home. Play New York and the Under.
