CBB: 10* LIU Brooklyn +4.5 -110 (543)
Radford plays good defense but they are not a gifted offensive team and they do not play fast. They are not the team I trust to gain separation here against a LIU Brooklyn team that played their best basketball late in the season and has a head coach in Derek Kellogg, former UMass head coach, that knows how to get teams ready for tournament format settings which is why Kellogg was able to guide his LIU squad toward a resounding NEC Tournament title victory on the road catching nearly double digits as underdogs against Wagner to punch their ticket in to the NCAA Tournament. The most important factor to me is that the LIU Brooklyn Blackbirds just recently beat a Wagner team that plays a similar style as the Radford Highlanders do and they completely dominated Wagner in that game. They managed to take Wagner out of their element and I think LIU Brooklyn has the potential to rattle Radford's cage here a bit employing that same game plan. Radford now not only has to win this game but they have to show a degree of dominance on the scoreboard that I do not feel this squad is capable of in this given matchup. I liked LIU Brooklyn enough to release a play on them at +4.5 but there is no rush to bet this game yet with +5.5 and even +6 starting to show up on the Blackbirds in this game in a neutral court setting in Dayton, Ohio. I expect to see a relatively competitive game and wouldn't rule out LIU Brooklyn being able to come out of here with a victory.
