The Suns have been blown out by 20+ on each of the first two games of this three game East Coast swing.  That creates a real sense of urgency tonight as they step down in class to face the hapless Pistons in Detroit this evening.  The ugly blowout at Brooklyn on Monday gave us these two ‘bet-on’ quotes from the locker room after the game:

Head Coach Monty Williams: “We just lost a bit of our poise. It was a three-point game at the half, and we didn't make shots in the third quarter. I think our shot quality was decent. Brooklyn packed the paint and dared us to shoot the ball and we couldn't make shots."  Leading scorer Devin Booker, held to just 11 points; committing more turnovers than made shots. "They did a good job of taking me out, face guarding and switching on matchups.  It's one of those nights, but we'll be back at it in Detroit."

There’s hope for Phoenix; in much better position at the halfway point this year than they’ve been in any recent season.  There’s no hope for Detroit; a playoff team last year that is now dangling every veteran they have on the trading block.  Derrick Rose won’t play tonight, Svi Mykhailiuk is out as well; joining Blake Griffin and Luke Kennard on the sidelines.  Andre Drummond’s name keeps popping up in trade talks, as does Markieff Morris.  This is a bottom feeder team with virtually no home court advantage.  They’ve lost six of their last seven by double digit margins.  No surprise here if that becomes seven double digit losses in their last eight games tonight!  Take the Suns.
