    3%  Take Minnesota (#565)

I’ve got a ‘buy’ sign on the Minnesota Timberwolves right now, following their trade deadline deals.  It was clear that Andrew Wiggins wasn’t fitting in, chemistry-wise, with his teammates.  After shaking up the roster at the trading deadline, newcomers Malik Beasley and Jordan McLaughlin both starred in their T-Wolves debut over the weekend.   Minnesota covered the spread by 37 points in a blowout over the Clippers.  McLaughlin, after the game: “When the new guys got into the locker room, they brought a lot of energy. As you could tell, it carried over today."

Whether D’Angelo Russell makes his T-Wolves debut tonight or not (quad contusion); a team that just snapped an ugly 13 game skid has ‘bet-on’ potential moving forward.  And it’s surely worth noting that even during their long losing streak, Minnesota wasn’t getting blown out regularly – nine of their previous eleven losses came by single digit margins in relatively competitive games.

The Raptors are coming off three consecutive intense games, all against fellow Eastern Conference playoff contenders.  They won all three of those contests; two by a single point.  I’m not expecting Toronto’s ‘A’ game tonight against a lesser foe in their home finale before the All Star Break; a ‘find a way to scratch out a win and move on’ type of contest, especially with Kyle Lowry banged up, questionable for tonight.  Live dog here!  Take the Timberwolves.
