Up front, I'll say there's a chance this bet loses by a lot based on the inconsistency of the starting pitchers, BUT I'm going to play this based on their potential.

Vince Velasquez is one of the most frustrating pitchers around. He's got great stuff and flashes brilliance, but he also has his stretches where he loses control and can't spot his pitches. The hope is that Bryan Price has tapped into his potential. Vinny Velo struggled in his first inning against the Yankees during Summer camp, but then was fantastic afterwards. He's throwing a cutter and a change which he didn't have in the past.

Jose Urena had good numbers against the Phillies last year allowing just three runs and 11 hits in 15 innings, but so far the group has struggled as a unit to get things going. Bryce Harper (4-17, 5 K), Rhys Hoskins (3-14, 7 K) and Roman Quinn (1-8) have problems with him. I think the biggest thing for Urena is that he was being asked to be the ace of a staff when he wasn't. Urena had a pretty solid Summer with a 1.06 ERA and has worked to refine his arsenal.

As I said above, this bet could bomb and both pitchers pitch to their awful side, but I'm going to play on both sides potential and hope for some clean innings.
