One of my favorite things to play are overs in games when I know the home team is going to bat in the 9th. JA Happ makes his first start in 2020 for the Yankees as they take on the Orioles. The southpaw went 2-1 with a 6.85 ERA in five starts against Baltimore last year. Several of their hitters have seen him and hit him well in his career including Renato Nunez (11-19) and Hanser Alberto (6-13). Baltimore's offense isn't great, but I don't need them to do a lot of the heavy lifting. They managed to scratch some runs across against Gerrit Cole on Wednesday.
On the other side, it's the Orioles ace John Means making his first start of 2020. Means is coming off dealing with a dead arm that kept him out of an Opening Day start. The southpaw figures to be eased into things so I can't imagine he goes that long which means Baltimore's awful bullpen comes into play. Last year Means posted a 7.62 ERA in five outings against the Bronx Bombers. The Yankees lineup figures to have all their best players in with the time off that they had.
I like the over in this one. A little bit more at 10, but I'd still consider 10.5.
