The Blue Jays wrap up a two game set in DC this afternoon as they take on the Nationals. Toronto is the home team and they'll send Hyun-Jin Ryu to the mound. He threw 97 pitches in his opener against the Rays in which he gave up three runs and four hits in just over four innings. Ryu has had some success against Washington holding them to one earned run last year over 14.2 innings and that was with a better lineup. Among the hitters who have struggled with him are Howie Kendrick (3-14), Trea Turner (2-13) and Adam Eaton (1-8). Washington's lineup doesn't figure to have Juan Soto again and that'll be an issue for the group. Kendrick is questionable as well.

On the other side, it's Erick Fedde going for Washington as he replaces Stephen Strasburg for the second time. Fedde threw four decent innings against the Yankees last time out on short notice. He held them to two runs and four hits while striking out three. It is a worry that he'll struggle a bit with the free swinging Toronto lineup, but only Joe Panik has faced him before. I think with the cushion of five runs, this one could be a 3-1 game and we still win.
