3%  Take the Boston Red Sox (#923) on the Run Line

There’s not a lot to like about the Kansas City Royals these days.  KC isn’t hitting, held to three runs or less five times on their just concluded 1-6 road trip.  Without the injured Salvador Perez behind home plate, the Royals young pitching staff is getting crushed, #28 in the majors in ERA.  That’s why second tier prospects like Glenn Sparkman (not in the Royals Top 20 prospects coming out of Spring Training) are getting chances in this rotation.

Make no mistake about it -- Sparkman is a bad fit against this potent Red Sox lineup.  The Royals bullpen behind him ranks #22 in ERA; a consistently problematic unit, particularly against quality lineups.  KC isn’t hitting lefties at all; #28 in MLB with a .653 OPS against southpaws.  Only the equally hapless Tigers have won fewer games against opposing lefties this year.

Meanwhile, Boston is 7-2 on the Run Line in Eduardo Rodriguez’s last nine starts, and he’s coming off a gem in his last outing against Houston.  After facing the Yankees, Indians and Astros in their last three series, look for the Red Sox to take advantage of this step down in class.  Take the Red Sox on the Run Line.
