    3%  Take Boston (#915)

Let me start with an excerpt from Tuesday’s write-up supporting the Red Sox in their first of two blowout wins in this series so far.  Numbers have been adjusted to reflect current realities

There’s not a lot to like about the Kansas City Royals these days.  KC isn’t hitting.  They were held to three runs or less five times on their 1-6 road trip, then produced only three runs in 18 innings in a pair of losses to open this series.  Without the injured Salvador Perez behind home plate, the Royals young pitching staff is getting crushed, #28 in the majors in ERA.

KC starter Danny Duffy got hammered at Texas in his last start and his track record against this Red Sox lineup isn’t pretty, including a ‘four home runs allowed’ start against them in his lone appearance vs. Boston last year.  The Royals bullpen behind him is anything BUT rested and ready.  And the Red Sox lineup is rolling, pounding out eight runs in each of their last three ballgames.

After facing the Yankees, Indians and Astros in their last three series, the Red Sox have been taking full advantage of this step down in class.  We’re getting a cheap price to lay because of Boston’s starting pitcher today, Ryan Weber.  Manager Alex Cora doesn’t seem too concerned, even with Weber coming off a rough outing:  “Most likely, a combination of (Weber) and (Mike) Shawaryn. I don't want to say an opener thing. We trust these guys, but most likely (they both) are going to be part of it. We'll map it out."  There’s a class difference between these two squads that is not fully reflected in this price….Take the Red Sox.
