4%  Take the Chicago White Sox (#920)

The Tigers are the worst team in MLB right now, playing lifeless baseball night after night.   They’re 5-20 since their last two game win streak.  They’ve been held to one run or less in four of their last five games; held to three runs or less 16 times in their last 22 overall.  Supposed ace Matthew Boyd has allowed ten home runs in his last five starts and the Tigers are just 1-8 in his last nine trips to the hill.  This team has no business as favorites against anybody right now; hence the market push towards Chicago in early betting action on Tuesday.

White Sox starter Reynaldo Lopez has ugly season long numbers, but he’s coming off solid showings in wins against the hot hitting Red Sox and Rangers lineups in his last two starts. Lopez has owned Detroit, allowing just two earned runs in two previous starts against them this season, striking out 22 batters in just 12 innings of work.  Current Tigers have hit just .218 against him with a .669 OPS in a decent 119 at bat sample size.

And frankly, the quotes coming out of this White Sox locker room are ‘bet-on’.  All Star catcher James McCann: "Like we've preached since Day 1 of spring training, this is a good ballclub. We're close to contention. We're headed into July and we're right there in the wild-card picture. It's just a matter of coming together as a team and continuing this growth as a team.”  All Star first baseman Jose Abreu: “We are improving, we are getting better and we're very, very close to being a good team, and a team that can be in the playoffs and to be considered one of the teams to win a championship."  I concur!  Take the White Sox.
