    3%  Take Central Michigan (#336)

Let me start with an excerpt from my write-up last week, supporting Central Michigan as a big underdog in Kalamazoo:

“The bottom fell out in Mt Pleasant last year, as Central Michigan went from four straight years of bowl appearances into a dismal 1-11 campaign.  Following the season, the Chippewas fired their head coach, replacing him with veteran HC Jim McElwain.  But Central Michigan looked every bit as bad in their FBS opener at Wisconsin, losing 61-0.  The betting markets that weren’t very high on this team to begin with (to put it mildly) crashed even further.

That was then, this is now.  Since that blowout loss at Wisconsin, the Chippewas have blown out Akron and hung tough at Miami-FL, losing by only five points as 30.5 point underdogs despite a -2 turnover differential.  QB David Moore is “100% good to go” per his quote, and this Chips defense is showing some real ‘bet-on’ potential moving forward.  Right now, Central Michigan has major potential as an under-the-radar under-valued commodity in the college football betting marketplace.”

The Chippewas were -2 in turnovers at Western Michigan last week.  Twice they got in the red zone, went for it on fourth down and failed to get a single point from an otherwise successful offensive drive.  And they STILL covered the spread, a clear indication of how undervalued this team actually is in the betting markets right now.

Eastern Michigan has a strong track record on the road under head coach Chris Creighton.  But this team was an underdog in the vast majority of those games – they’ve covered as road chalk exactly twice in Creighton’s six seasons on the job.  The Eagles haven’t won in Mt Pleasant since 2011,  Last year, they hung only 17 on the Chippewas, never sniffing a pointspread cover as chalk.  No surprise here if the Chips win this one in outright fashion……Take Central Michigan
