The PLAY: Cleveland Cavaliers Total Over 119.0 (-110)
The Cavaliers just took a bad loss on Sunday, falling as 15-point home favorites to a Dallas Mavericks team they had just beaten by 33 two days earlier. There's been a lot of overreaction here in Cleveland, but I am going to tell you that I think the Cavs are playing for the 4-seed in the East. (So they can potentially avoid the Celtics and Knicks until the Conference Finals).
Despite losing that game on Sunday, the Cavs still managed to score 120 even with Donovan Mitchell and James Harden combining to shoot a dismal 14 of 36 (39%) from the field. Call me optimistic, but I think we see better shooting from the team's two best players tonight. Also, Jaylon Tyson will be back after sitting out on Sunday.
I'm not that interested in laying the big number with Cleveland, even if Giannis Antetokounmpo ends up not playing for Milwaukee. But what I would do is bet the Cavs to go Over their team total. They are third in the league in points per game. The Bucks are just outside the bottom five in terms of defensive efficiency. This matchup seems tailor-made for the Cavs to put up a big point total.
