NHL | (55) Edmonton Oilers at (56) Vegas Golden Knights | 9:30pm EDT - May 6/2025 |
The PLAY: Total Under 6.5 (-125)
We're unlikely to see too many more totals that are this high. While recent h2h meetings at Edmonton have been higher-scoring, the Oilers' last three visits to Vegas resulted in scores of 3-2, 1-0 and 3-1. That's an average of just 3.33 goals per game. The Knights closed out round 1 with consecutive 3-2 victories. The Oilers had a higher-scoring series with the Kings but their last road game finished with a 3-1 score. I think the number is generous and that Game 1 will end up lower-scoring than some may be expecting. *good at 6 or better

MLB | (907) Pittsburgh Pirates at (908) St. Louis Cardinals | 7:45pm EDT - May 6/2025 |
The PLAY: Pittsburgh Pirates -126 P Skenes (RHP), M Liberatore (LHP) Must Start
With losses in two of his last three starts, Skenes has shown that he's human. That said, his numbers are still very solid. He's got a 2.74 ERA and 0.91 WHIP. He averages six innings per start and strikes out a batter per inning. He's also done his best work on the road. In three away starts, Skenes is 2-0 with a 0.96 ERA and 0.70 WHIP. Opposing batters hit only .167 in those games. Off five straight losses, the Pirates need a big game from their ace. Considering that he's got a spectacular 0.73 ERA in two starts at St. Louis, I like their chances. Pirates bounce back and stop the bleeding.
