The PLAY: Donovan Clingan Points + Rebounds Over 24.5 (-106)
The Trail Blazers still have a shot to play themselves into the 7 vs 8 matchup in the Western Conference Play-In as they head to San Antonio to take on the Spurs. San Antonio will be playing shorthanded tonight missing both Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle as we’ll look for the Portland big man to go over 24.5 points + rebounds. We did see Clingan production dip a bit at the end of March but he still averaged 25.2 points + rebounds for the month and is coming off a 30 points + rebounds effort in a 137-132 overtime loss at Denver last time out on Monday. Sure, the Spurs allow the seventh fewest points in the paint per game, but without Wembanyama’s rim protection Clingan should be able to generate additional easy buckets at the rim. In two head-to-head meetings against San Antonio this season Clingan has averaged 28 points + rebounds with Wembanyama inactive for both those matchups as well. In an important game for Western Conference seeding, let’s look for Portland to take advantage of San Antonio’s absences with Clingan going over 24.5 points + rebounds tonight.
