David Hess is eyeing another clean strike on the MLB diamond tonight. He’s isolated a strong totals play backed by the same matchup reads and number‑driven edges that have fueled his recent success. When he circles a total with this level of confidence, it’s worth jumping on. Tonight’s winner is just $7.00.

| MLB | (927) Colorado Rockies at (928) Houston Astros: Total | 8:10pm EDT - Apr 15/2026 |
The PLAY: Total Over 8.5 (-122) Action
The Over 8.5 is the right side because both teams are built for offense right now and the pitching matchup is shaky on both ends. Houston has been one of the most explosive lineups in baseball, averaging 6.50 runs per game at home and ranking top‑three in runs, batting average, and OPS, and they get a very hittable arm in Spencer Arrighetti, who owns an 8.41 ERA in March/April and is unlikely to work deep. That puts the Astros’ bullpen in play early, and that group has been a disaster with a 6.35 ERA, second‑worst in MLB. Colorado isn’t a great road offense, but they did score six runs last night, and with Houston’s pitching in its current state, the Rockies should be able to push across at least four again. José Quintana wasn’t sharp in his debut — two earned, four walks, and two homers in 4.1 innings — and his career 4.05 ERA in March/April suggests he often starts slow. Houston’s bats are too hot, Colorado should contribute, and both bullpens are vulnerable. This sets up as another game where both teams reach four runs and the total clears 8.5.
