The Phillies have really struggled vs southpaws this season, with a 67 wRC+ on the year. That’s third worst in baseball, just ahead of the Rangers and Rockies. Jeffrey Springs is often an underrated starter and he has nice betting value tonight.
Wheeler recently returned from a serious injury, and his numbers looked pretty good. But his velocity was down and we have concerns about his control. Much has been made about the recent winning run since the coaching change, but that has more to do with a weak schedule of opponents for the Phillies.
