Despite an eight-game losing streak, Seattle has shown signs of life recently, losing by just five points to Los Angeles and four points to Golden State last week. Veteran guard Natisha Hiedeman has emerged as a stabilizing force, averaging 21.0 points and 5.0 assists over those two contests, while rookie Flau'jae Johnson has continued to impress with 11.6 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. Just as importantly, center Dominique Malonga has returned from a concussion and is averaging 16.0 points and 7.3 rebounds, giving the Storm a legitimate interior presence. While Seattle remains a rebuilding team without injured star Ezi Magbegor, the roster is healthier and more competitive than its record suggests. From a technical standpoint, WNBA teams coming off six or more consecutive losses are 117-83-8 ATS (58.5%), including 66-40-3 ATS (62.3%) since 2021, covering the spread by an average margin of 2.2 points per game. Against a fellow expansion franchise, the Storm have enough veteran leadership and emerging young talent to snap their losing streak and deliver a strong performance on Wednesday night. Take Seattle as Jeff Keim’s Free Pick Winner for Wednesday, June 17.
