Despite an eight-game losing streak, Seattle has shown signs of life recently, losing by just five points to Los Angeles and four points to Golden State last week. Veteran guard Natisha Hiedeman has emerged as a stabilizing force, averaging 21.0 points and 5.0 assists over those two contests, while rookie Flau'jae Johnson has continued to impress with 11.6 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. Just as importantly, center Dominique Malonga has returned from a concussion and is averaging 16.0 points and 7.3 rebounds, giving the Storm a legitimate interior presence. While Seattle remains a rebuilding team without injured star Ezi Magbegor, the roster is healthier and more competitive than its record suggests. From a technical standpoint, WNBA teams coming off six or more consecutive losses are 117-83-8 ATS (58.5%), including 66-40-3 ATS (62.3%) since 2021, covering the spread by an average margin of 2.2 points per game. Against a fellow expansion franchise, the Storm have enough veteran leadership and emerging young talent to snap their losing streak and deliver a strong performance on Wednesday night. Take Seattle as Jeff Keim’s Free Pick Winner for Wednesday, June 17.

Connecticut enters Wednesday on a five-game losing streak, but the Sun have been far more competitive than their record suggests, pushing Toronto to overtime and hanging within two possessions of Indiana late before fading. The recent arrival of guard Leila Lacan has provided a major boost, as she averaged 17.5 points and 7.0 assists last week while giving Connecticut another reliable playmaker. Washington boasts an exciting young core led by Lauren Betts, Sonia Citron, and Kiki Iriafen, but the Mystics are still navigating the growing pains that come with a youth movement and were blown out 86-64 by New York in their most recent outing. Moreover, forward Kiki Iriafen, who is averaging 14.6 points and 8.9 rebounds per game this season, has missed the past two games with a right ankle sprain and is listed as questionable. From a technical standpoint, teams on a prolonged losing streak, like Connecticut, are 171-136-9 ATS (55.7%) since 2012. Moreover, .200 or worse WNBA teams with two or more losses are 110-78-5 ATS (58.5%) versus opponents entering off an Eastern time zone affair, including 52-30-3 ATS (63.4%) since 2019, covering the spread by an average margin of 3.9 points per game. With the Sun showing signs of improvement and the Mystics still lacking veteran experience, Connecticut is in a favorable spot to snap its losing streak on Wednesday. Grab the points with Connecticut as Jeff Keim’s Free Pick Winner for Wednesday, June 17.
