The PLAY: Tampa Bay Rays -136 Zac Gallen (RHP), Nick Martinez (RHP) Must Start
I wanted to fade Zac Gallen yesterday, but the Diamondbacks' series finale in St. Louis got rained out. Tampa Bay is now the beneficiary of getting to face Gallen, who is having a dreadful season, especially on the road where he has a 6.98 ERA and 1.81 WHIP.
Last time out, Gallen gave up nine runs in four innings. I bet the Over in that game and it was a winning ticket by the top of the fifth inning (D'backs were down 10-0!) Now Gallen is set to face a Rays' lineup that just put 13 runs on the board yesterday and is top six in scoring at home for the season.
Now that we've established the home team should put plenty of runs on the board tonight, what about their chances of keeping the D'backs lineup in check? Nick Martinez gets the start here for TB. He hasn't been that great lately, but still has a 2.73 ERA for the season. The Rays' bullpen is in good shape here after Legumina & Seymour combined for eight no-hit innings yesterday. The Rays are 28-12 at home. They should be a bigger favorite tonight.
