Chicago offers solid value on Tuesday as the Sky continue to play with increasing confidence despite their inconsistent record. Kamilla Cardoso (14.6 ppg) has emerged as one of the league's most dominant interior forces, giving Chicago a significant advantage on the glass and around the rim, while the Sky's young core has shown steady improvement on both ends of the floor. The Sky have covered the spread in 6 of their last 8 games and won two of those games outright. Chicago’s defense ranks 3rd in 3P% (30.8), 6th in FG% (44.0), and leads the league in blocks per game (5.2). Phoenix has leaned heavily on veterans Alyssa Thomas and Kahleah Copper throughout the season, but that reliance has occasionally led to inconsistent performances, particularly when opponents can slow the pace and force others to beat them. The Mercury will also be without forward Natasha Mack (9.2 ppg; 60.9% FG%), who remains sidelined due to a bone bruise in her left foot. Mack has played a key role for the Mercury this season, averaging 9.2 points and 8.3 rebounds in 25.1 minutes per contest. As a short road underdog, Chicago has enough size, athleticism, and offensive balance to remain competitive throughout the contest. From a technical standpoint, WNBA teams coming off two or more consecutive wins are just 119-153-1 ATS (43.8%) before the All-Star break, whereas teams entering off a game where they scored 77 or more points are 172-135-1 ATS (56%) versus opponents coming off two or more consecutive wins before the All-Star break. With Cardoso anchoring the paint and the Sky continuing to build chemistry, taking the points presents strong betting value. Take the Chicago Sky plus the points as Jeff Keim’s Free Pick Winner for Tuesday, July 7.
