NFL | (469) Jacksonville Jaguars at (470) Washington Commanders | 1:00pm EDT - Sep 11/2022 |
The PLAY: Washington Commanders -3.5 (-110)
Jacksonville is just 1-6 all time in this series. This is the first time they've played since 2018, but it's a matchup that we believe favors the home side.
Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars were terrible last year. Clearly, it was not Lawrence's fault. That said, he threw multiple touchdowns in only two of his 17 starts last year and he only completed 59.6 percent of his passes. He had little help, both with the weapons around him and the line in front of him. The Jags are only favored in two of their 17 games this year and they're predicted to win just 6.5 games. They have a difficult schedule, and despite adding Travis Etienne and head coach Doug Peterson to try and correct things, we still think that the Jags will have a difficult time going “over” their small season win total.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a big Carson Wentz fan. But Washington's new veteran pivot couldn't have asked for a better matchup out of the gate. Lawrence is probably going to go on to have a much more tenured career in the NFL than his counterpart will, but he struggled against good defenses like Washington's last year and I believe he'll be under tremendous pressure throughout this one.
I believe Wentz can guide his new team to at least a TD victory. But what about you, do you think Peterson and Etienne push the Jags over the top in this one, or is “home field” going to be the difference-maker for Wentz?!

What is "The Insiders Room?"
"The Insiders Room" is a growing Discord community filled with a network of savvy sports bettors from around the world. These bettors share information and debate opinions. There's live-streaming, community chat, and podcasts - all of which make for a lively and highly informative forum. Company founder and veteran handicapper Nick Parsons runs the show. Nick sifts through the information, separating the wheat from the chaff, while often using that information to assist in making his own personal selections.
What sports does The Insiders Room bet on?
The Insiders Room is home to specialists in every sport, everything from tennis to cricket to Korean baseball. However, the premium releases will mostly include the following sports: NFL, NCAAF, NBA, NCAAB, MLB, EPL, NHL, TENNIS, and UFC.
What are The Insiders Room's handicapping systems/methods?
After more than two decades in the sports betting industry, Nick's instincts are razor sharp. First and foremost, Parsons considers himself a situational handicapper. However, now that he has a vast sports betting community at his disposal he mainly 'handicaps the handicappers', displaying an uncanny knack for knowing when to agree (or disagree) with the members of The Insiders Room network.
What should I expect for pick volume and release time?
Over the course of a year, the Insiders Room will feature in the neighborhood of 2000 plays, roughly 4 to 6 per day. Picks from daily sports are available before noon ET, often the day before the game. Football picks are released throughout the week, starting from the instant the lines are released.
