| MLB | (919) Toronto Blue Jays at (920) New York Yankees: Total | 7:05pm EDT - May 19/2026 |
The PLAY: Total Under 9.0 (-120) Dylan Cease (RHP), Will Warren (RHP) Must Start
3% Blue Jays/Yankees Under (7:05 ET): The Yankees maintained their status as the highest scoring home team in all of baseball last night with a 7-6 victory over the Blue Jays in the series opener. Even though Paul Goldschmidt hit Patrick Corbin’s first pitch for a home run, it ended up being a come from behind effort for the Pinstripes, who got a pair of 2-run homers in the 7th (from Cody Bellinger and Jazz Chisholm). Then they had to survive another shaky effort from David Bednar in the ninth. On paper, we’ve got a much better starting pitching matchup for Tuesday and I think that lends itself to playing the Under.
While the Yankees are now averaging an impressive 6.57 runs per game at home this season, which is a massive increase from the 3.93 rpg they average on the road, that former number can only come down as 2026 progresses. Tonight, the Yanks will be facing Dylan Cease, who has been absolutely sensational to start the year. We’re talking a 2.41 ERA and 1.18 WHIP, not to mention a 1.96 FIP (#2 overall) and 12.9 K’s per innings (#1 in AL). Over his last two starts, Cease has allowed just one run total in 14 IP with 19 strikeouts. The fact he’s allowed just one home run all season is also great. I just don’t see any reason to expect Cease won’t be outstanding again here tonight.
For the Yankees, it will be Will Warren starting. He’s now allowed two runs or less in eight of his nine starts, so consider me a believer. Warren has pitched better on the road, but here he’ll be facing a Toronto lineup that has a bottom four wRC+ (82) away from home this year. Needless to say, I was quite surprised to see the Blue Jays score six runs in the series opener. It should be a much lower number tonight. 3% Blue Jays/Yankees Under (Play at 9 or higher)
