The Rangers send Jack Leiter to the mound who is 3-5 with a 4.69 ERA, with the team losing seven of his 13 starts thus far. Although the RH is 2-1 over his last three outings. He is coming off a rough start in his latest outing, where he gave up five runs on six hits in 4 2/3 innings, resulting in a 6-0 loss to the Guardians on Saturday. He also struggles on the road, going just 1-3 with a 5.29 ERA this season. And in two career starts against Boston (both last year), he is 1-1 with a 4.35 ERA. The Red Sox counter with Sonny Gray who is 7-1 with a 3.20 ERA, with the team winning eight of his 11 starts this season. Over his past six starts, the RH is a perfect 5-0 with a 2.43 ERA. And when at home, Gray has been stellar going 3-0 with a 2.52 ERA. And in 19 career games (18 starts) against Texas, he is 11-5 with a 2.87 ERA.
