THE PLAY: Manchester United -1.5 (-110)

    English Premier League

This is a big revenge spot for Man United.  They lost 2-3 at Brighton in their first road game of the year which really was the first sign of trouble in the clubhouse.  We all know the story now of their bad run thru most of the first half of the season that ultimately led to the firing of their manager, Josie Mourinho.  Now with new manager Ole Gunnar Skolsjaer, they have rallied off six straight wins which is a record for a United manager to win their first six games.  They really weren’t tested though in their first five games but earned an impressive 1-0 win at Tottenham this past weekend.

I did not get to see the first half but was able to catch all of the 2nd half and United was certainly not the better team.  Tottenham was great with the ball, pushing forward creating chance after chance and if not for an unreal game by United’s keeper, De Gea, they could have easily lost that game.  Tottenham got an amazing 11 shots on goal all in the 2nd half and De Gea had to make some incredible saves to keep them out.  Listen, a win is a win, I get it, but that game showed United still has a big weakness on the defensive side of the ball which will come to haunt them when they face Man City, Liverpool and definitely in the Champions League.

But Brighton is not on any level close to those elite teams.  They are #13 in the table with 7 wins, 5 draws and 10 losses this season.  On the road they have been pretty bad, with just 2 wins, 2 draws and 7 losses and have been doubled in score, scoring just 9 while conceding 18.

United won by at least 2 in each of those first five games against weaker competition and coming back home after that huge win against Tottenham, and combined with the fact that they lost at Brighton this season, I think they will bring a lot of energy and come out fast in this game.

    TAKE MANCHESTER UNITED -1.5

Nick Borrman has carved out a name for himself betting on soccer. He has been actively giving out free picks and analysis on soccer matches for several years through his Twitter handle @Borrman00. He was also an original writer on podbet.com, posting detailed write-ups of his picks.

Soccer

Borrman fell in love with professional ‘football’ (as anyone outside of the United States would refer to it) the first time he attended an MLS game seven years ago.  Now, he uses statistical analysis as well as current trends to successfully find value on soccer matches across the globe.  Borrman focuses much of his attention on the Premier League, La Liga, Ligue 1, Bundesliga and Serie A, as well as the most prestigious tournament of them all, the Champions League.  Of course, you can’t forget the fast-growing MLS which finishes the year-round soccer schedule through the summer months in North America.  MLS is now ahead of both the NHL and NBA in average fan attendance per game and continues to grow, seeing expansion teams added to the league in three of the last four years, as well as future expansion teams scheduled to be added in both 2019 and 2020.

Golf

Borrman has been around golf his entire life and grew up playing every summer with his parents who were members of a local country club.  He eventually found his career working in the golf business as a Class A PGA Professional.  He has now begun to take his vast knowledge of the game of golf and apply it to PGA Tour picks.  Borrman has taught golf to all levels for the last 15 years and understands the intricacies of the sport, the nuances of playing at different courses and the difficutly of bringing top level focus and physical energy week-in and week-out.  He is using this knowledge and trend forecasting to find Head-to-Head Tournament winners each week on the PGA Tour.

Both sports are year-round and Borrman only focuses his attention on these sports while most people, especially the oddsmakers, focus their attention on the major American sports, leaving plenty of value on the table to exploit!
