NBA | (503) Minnesota Timberwolves at (504) Los Angeles Lakers: Naz Reid Three Pointers Made O/U | 10:00pm EDT - Oct 22/2024 |
The PLAY: Naz Reid Three Pointers Made O/U Over 1.5 (-105)
Naz Reid Three Pointers Made O/U Over 1.5 (-105):
Minnesota Timberwolves center Naz Reid averaged 2.1 three-pointers made on 5 attempts per game during the 2023 campaign and he upped those numbers to 2.5 on 6 attempts per game after the All-Star break. Reid thrived against the Los Angeles Lakers, clearing this line in all four head-to-head games with 6, 5, 2 and 3 threes. It makes sense, considering the Lakers allowed the 3rd most long-distance shots overall (13.51/game) and the 2nd most to opposing centers (1.29/game) on a league high 25.16%. Reid also eclipsed this line in each of his last pre-season games, going 2-9 & 3-7 across 22 & 23 minutes respectively. Julius Randle didn't play much during the pre-season and that could also equate to some critical additional minutes for Reid.

NBA | NBA Most Improved Player Award 2024-25 | 7:30pm EDT - Oct 22/2024 |
The PLAY: Jalen Green Wins Most Improved Player Award 2024-25 (+3000)
Jalen Green Wins Most Improved Player Award 2024-25 (+3000):
Jalen Green entered the league as a highly rated prospect when he joined the Houston Rockets as the #2 pick in the 2021 draft, but his pro career has been a mix of inconsistency and flashes of absolute brilliance. Green showed a major improvement in his first year under head coach Ime Udoka as he averaged 19.6 points per game and in the month of March, he was arguably the best player in the NBA. In 15 games that month, Green averaged 27.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and just under 4 assists while shooting 49% from the field and 41% from beyond the arc. Another interesting factor is the Rockets signing center Steven Adams who is one of the best screen setters in the league. In the last two seasons, in games with Adams on the floor, Ja Morant shot 36% from long distance over a 91-game span while shooting only 29% in 70 games without him. Not to mention, Morant shooting 48% from the field with Adams on the court and he'll be ready to start the season. Green has all the talent and athleticism to win this award and unlike Barnes this is the final year of his rookie contract which will give him motivation entering unrestricted free agency.
