The PLAY: San Francisco Giants -121 K Bubic (LHP), R Ray (LHP) Must Start
The Giants have a lot of positive momentum right now and are finding ways to win. Yesterday, they scored two runs in the bottom of the 8th inning to defeat the Athletics 3-2. That comeback victory completed a 3-game sweep of their former Bay Area rivals. Robbie Ray is 6-0 through his first nine appearances. All three of his May starts have been of the quality variety. He's got a 1.89 ERA in those games and a 2.32 ERA at home on the season. Admittedly, Bubic has also been outstanding. That said, Ray is backed by the better bullpen. SF relievers rank #1 in baseball with a 2.51 ERA and 1.04 WHIP. The Royals are 9-13 at home, while the Giants are 16-7 at home. With all due respect to Bubic, this line could easily be higher.
