With these two solid arms in this first game 1 of a double header, look for less runs in this game. Peralta has been solid with an ERA of 2.38 and he’s been able to shut the Mets down in 17.1 innings of work in past games where he’s only allowed 5 earned runs against New York. In Citi Field, Peralta has been even better with an ERA of 1.50 in 6 innings of work, only giving up one earned run. Holmes has an ERA of 2.61 over the last month and over 20.1 innings of work, has also only allowed 5 total earned runs and is keeping runs off the scoreboard, especially at home. These two pitchers will be able to stifle runs in the early innings of this game and especially if they pitch deeper into the game, as both teams have anemic offenses right now that are inconsistent. That should carry into the bullpens as well where both have been decent.
