Rockies vs Reds Analysis
On Friday night, the Reds and Rockies kick off a best of three series. The Reds are on a three-game losing streak and have the worst record in baseball.
The Rockies started this season off on the right foot, but they are on a four-game losing streak. Rookie Hunter Greene will take the hill for Cincinnati and Antonio Senzatela will make the start for the Rockies. The Rockies are -120 home favorites, the run line is 1.5, and the total is set at 10.5.
Colorado Rockies Preview
Colorado started off the 2022 season hot, but it seems reality has set back in. The Rockies did not have high expectations coming into this season, and now they are losers of four straight and are hovering around .500. Colorado is fourth in the NL West.
Antonio Senzatela will make the start for Colorado and it will be his fourth appearance this season. Through three starts so far, Senzatela has thrown 13.1 innings and has allowed seven runs and 26 hits. The fact that Senzatela has allowed almost twice as many hits as innings pitched and only allowed seven runs is remarkable.
Cincinnati Reds Preview
The Reds have quickly become the laughing stock of the MLB. Through 19 games, the Reds have won just three times. There is not a lot of hope for a turnaround either – the Reds have a .178 batting average and their team ERA is 5.83.
One of the few things the Reds have to get excited about is rookie starting pitcher Hunter Greene. Greene has been shaky so far this season, but the 22-year-old has also shown he has fantastic stuff.
It is rough for a 22-year-old to not just excel, but play in the Big Leagues. Greene has shown, that while he still has work to do, he is certainly the future ace of this franchise.
Rockies vs Reds Prediction
The Reds are bad and impossible to back, especially in a game like this where they are just a slight underdog. The Rockies starter, Antonio Senzatela, is not a great pitcher.
If there is any day for the Reds to take home a win, today may be the day. Hunter Greene pitches with a lot of velocity and it could be problematic for flying baseballs at Coors Field. All things considered, I’m going with the Reds moneyline.
Prediction: Cincinnati Reds Moneyline (+110)
