MLB Home Run Prop Picks Today, September 7
Ready for MLB Home Run Prop Picks Today? We have a new longest home run hitter of the season as Christian Yelich blasted a 499 ft home run off Rockies starting pitcher Chad Kuhl last night. Sportsmemo content contributor Kyle Kargel provides his daily home run prop picks and predictions for Wednesday, September 7 with odds provided by PointsBet.
Home Run Prop Picks Today – Prediction 1: Rhys Hoskins (+230)
Rhys Hoskins and the Phillies go up against Trevor Rogers and the Marlins tonight in which Hoskins and the rest of the Phillies for that matter post solid numbers against. Hoskins in his career is 7-16 with three home runs against Rogers with one coming this season already.
This season in three starts against the Phillies Rogers posts a ballooning 11.91 ERA in 11.1 innings pitched. Rogers is a lefty and Hoskins posts great numbers against lefties this season as well. He hits .304 against left handed pitching compared to .230 against righties.
Ever since September has started though, Hoskins has been cold but this could be a get-right game for him to get back on track, especially with his power with him not hitting a home run since August 16th.
Get Hoskins at +230 to hit a home run, but other Phillies hitters with potential to hit a home run are J.T. Realmuto (+425) and Alec Bohm (+550).
Home Run Prop Picks Today – Prediction 2: Jose Altuve (+290)
Rangers starting pitcher tonight Cole Ragans is coming off a short stint on the DL going up against a team he probably doesn’t want to face in the Astros. In one of his four starts this season he went 4.1 innings allowing five earned runs including two home runs to the Astros. Jose Altuve didn’t hit one of those home runs, but he has a great chance tonight to hit one.
He hits .325 against lefties and 10 of his 24 home runs have come against lefties in 120 at-bats which is a much higher rate of a home run than hitting one against righties in which his other 14 have come in 327 at-bats against.
Altuve is hitting .314 against Texas with three home runs this season. Houston is playing at home tonight which works in Altuve’s favor to hit a home run as well.
He hits .326 at home compared to .258 on the road. Get Altuve at +290 to hit a home run but other Astros hitters to consider are Chas McCormick at +425 and Yordan Alvarez at +340.
