Nationals vs Dodgers Analysis
After winning a three-game series vs the Phillies, the Dodgers travel to DC to take on the Nationals in a three-game series.
The Nationals lost two of the three games against the Brewers in their last series. This is the first time the Dodgers and the Nationals are facing off this season. For this matchup, the Dodgers are -220 road favorites, the run line is 1.5, and the total is set at 9 runs.
Dodgers Preview
The Dodgers, who have one of the best, if not the best, rosters in baseball, have been cruising to start the season. Los Angeles is 27-13 and they sit in first place in the NL West.
The Dodgers are 7-3 over their last 10 games and have outscored opponents by 12 runs during this stretch.
Lefty Tyler Anderson will make the start for the Dodgers tonight. Anderson has appeared in seven games for LA but has started just five.
Anderson’s last start was a solid outing against the Diamondbacks, but he let up seven hits in seven innings. His start on 5/12, vs the Phillies, did not go well. Anderson has a 4.04 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP this season.
Nationals Preview
The Nationals are rebuilding this season and it shows. Washington has won just three of their last seven games and they have been outscored by 23 runs during this stretch. The Nationals are 14-28 on the season and sit in last place in the NL East.
Joan Adon will make his ninth start of the season for the Nationals today. Adon is 1-7 on the season with a 6.38 ERA and a 1.64 WHIP.
His last two starts have been better, but Adon has gotten rocked frequently this year. In his past two starts, Adon has gone 8.1 innings allowing 8 hits and four runs.
Nationals vs Dodgers Prediction
The Dodgers are -220 on the moneyline and I’m not sure why they aren’t higher. However, I would not lay more than -160 on a moneyline favorite in the MLB, so I will not be toughing the Dodgers moneyline.
I have identified a 3% pick for this game and you can check it out, along with my other picks, on my capper profile on Sportsmemo.
