Before Steph Curry’s return on Thursday Night against the Raptors, I had Golden State power rated as the single worst team in the NBA, ranked #30 out of 30 teams.  Curry played well in his first game back.  The Warriors still lost by eight at home.

I did raise my Warriors power rating with Steph back on the floor.  Golden State now ranks #29 out of the 30 NBA teams.  The Warriors are 7-25 SU at home this season – there’s virtually no homecourt edge whatsoever at the new Chase Center.  Curry is playing with a whole cast of unfamiliar faces.  If Draymond Green suits up – no sure thing – he’ll be the only current Warrior who Curry has played with for more than a few practices.  Nor is Steve Kerr all that worried about winning games in SU fashion these days.  The Warriors aren’t 1-9 SU in games decided by five points or less by accident…..

The knee jerk reaction for many bettors has been to fade Philly on the highway – Philly’s road struggles have been a consistent storyline this NBA season.  The Sixers just snapped an 0-9 SU, 1-7-1 ATS Run on the highway with a wire-2-wire win at Sacramento on Thursday, despite playing without Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid and Josh Richardson.  But note who Philly played during that run: at the Lakers, at the Clippers, at Milwaukee (twice), at Miami, at Boston and at Toronto!  Talk about a BRUTAL slate of road games!

Philly can beat bad teams on the road – they won back-2-backs at Brooklyn and New York and at Detroit and Atlanta earlier in the year.  Even with Steph Curry back in the lineup, Golden State isn’t better than any of those teams except Detroit.  And don’t be shocked if former Warriors Glenn Robinson and Alec Burks come back to the Bay Area with a vengeance after getting dealt at the trade deadline.  Take the 76ers

Line Parameter: 4% w’ Philly at -2 or lower (or as an underdog), 3% at -2.5 or higher
