Round 2 opened up with a big upset when the visiting Indiana Pacers came into Cleveland and not only won, but dominated from start to finish in their 121-112 victory as 8.5-point underdogs.
To say that the Cavaliers steamrolled the Heat in Round One would be an understatement, though, winning all four games and scoring 121, 121, 124, and 138 points in the process.
Cleveland went just 1-3 against the Pacers in the regular season, but I think the Cavs will dig deep here in Game 2 and not only win, but do so in blowout fashion.
Indiana is 50-32, but only 20-20 on the road. Cleveland is 64-18, including 34-7 at home.
Having accomplished in earning a "split" already, I think Indiana finally has a letdown here and gets caught a tiny bit complacent. This isn't a "must win" game for the Cavaliers quite yet, but it's damn close.
Donovan Mitchell and company had a terrible night from beyond the arc in Game 1, hitting only 23.7 percent from range, compared to Indiana's 52.8 percent. Expect some equalization to occur here from each side. There's no way that the Cavs shoot that poorly again.
I also think there's a legitimate case to be made that "rest" did in fact lead to "rust" for the Cavs after sweeping the Heat, and that Indiana's five-game series benefited it.
But after beating the Bucks 119-118 in OT in Game 5 at home and then the emotional Game 1 victory to steal the home-floor advantage already, I believe Tyrese Haliburton and the Pacers are primed for a classic mental letdown here.
Whether Darius Garland is giving the "green light" or not, I think Cleveland is going to win big in Game 2. Consider the Cavaliers on Tuesday night.
Good luck, NP

A "contrarian" at heart, Nick has always felt that being flexible with your approach when it comes to handicapping is the best way to secure profits over the short, mid, and long term. Parsons doesn't limit himself to any sort of bet, or style of wagering. If he sees value in a pick, whether it's an underdog or a favorite, then he plays it. His succinct and no "B.S." approach, while also always being fully accountable, is what his growing list of satisfied clients has grown to appreciate the most.
