These teams have been involved in several lower-scoring games of late, including in the Phillies' 4-0 series-opening win yesterday, and I expect runs to once again be at a premium on Tuesday night with two quality starters going head-to-head.
The Padres hand the ball to Nick Pivetta (8-2, 3.36 ERA), while the home side counters with Cristopher Sanchez (6-2, 2.79).
Pivetta went seven scoreless innings and struck out ten with no walks in a win over the Nationals last time out, while Sanchez conceded one run with 11 K's over six innings in a no-decision to the Astros in his last trip to the hill.
Everything points to a classic "duel" here on Tuesday between two "in-form" starters, in my opinion.
