The PLAY: DeMar DeRozan (SAC) Over 20.5 points vs Washington
Don’t look now but the Kings are starting to roll with three straight outright double digit wins over the Rockets, Lakers and Knicks as they now welcome the Wizards into the Golden 1 Center on Friday. DeMar DeRozan has been a great part of that success averaging 27 ppg in those three games and 21.9 ppg in eight January games played. We’ll take DeRozan to go over 20.5 points tonight with the Wizards giving up the fifth most ppg to small forwards on the season. DeRozan isn’t a small forward by nature but with the shuffling of the starting lineup the Kings have had to do, that’s where he stands with Russell Westbrook and Zach Lavine taking on the starting point guard and shooting guard positions respectively. The Wizards come in ranking 29th in defensive efficiency for the season and although these two teams haven’t faced each other yet this season, DeRozan has averaged 26.7 ppg in his last three games against Washington. It is worth noting that Domantas Sabonis could be cleared to play Friday for the first time in two months but our guess is that he may be eased into the lineup with a minutes restriction at best. Take DeRozan to keep his hot shooting touch tonight going over 20.5 points at home against the lowly Wizards.
