The PLAY: Bennedict Mathurin (IND) Over 24.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists vs Utah
Two of the worst teams in the NBA go at it tonight as the Jazz and Pacers battle in Indiana. The Pacers have actually been playing somewhat better as of late going 3-2 straight up in their last five including a 118-114 loss to Houston last night although they did cover ATS as a 6-7 point underdog. Benedict Mathurin notched 34 points + rebounds + assists as we’ll take him to go over 24.5 points + rebounds + assists tonight. Utah has been vulnerable to opposing shooting guards specifically this season allowing the third most points as well as second most rebounds and assists per game to the position over the last 15 days. Mathurin missed three weeks of action in January and has played in four games since his return averaging 25 points + rebounds + assists per game. He also missed the first head-to-head meeting between these two teams which was a 152-128 Utah win and while we don’t anticipate 280 points being scored tonight, both teams rank bottom ten in defensive efficiency this season with Utah specifically coming in dead last. Utah also sits bottom ten in rebounding rate and it won’t get any better tonight with Jusuf Nurkic already being ruled out. The Jazz also allow the most assists per game overall of any team this season so let’s take Mathurin to fill up the stat sheet tonight for the Pacers in what should be a fast paced, high scoring game in Indiana tonight.
